Recently John and Linda, along with several Earthworker members visited ALP member for Wills, Peter Khalil to discuss how he could offer support to Earthworker Co-operative in setting up their worker owned factory in Morwell.

Peter was excited about supporting a factory space in Wills/Moreland for Warehousing initially, then Recycling down the track.

As part of the meeting John showed Peter the GridEdge / Earthworker clean energy trailer with the SoNick (sodium nickel chloride) battery inside.

Peter  appeared very interested in the Earthworker project, including the possibilities with the SoNick battery. He also talked around investigating how to get people a rebate or an upfront payment of a battery purchase in a plug and play unit that they can pay off, similar to the $5000 SA and ACT are offering. Although the SoNick battery technology was a new technology to Peter he did recognise the possibilities being offered, including those with the 1.4 MWh container for grid backup.
